Reed chairman dismisses future of virtual trade shows

Global organiser Reed has invested more than £20m on a web hosting platform after rejecting a move into virtual trade shows.

In an interview with EN, the Reed CEO and chairman Mike Rusbridge said the firm is “quietly retreating” from the market despite moves made by its competitors.

“We are not, and never have been, believers in the concept of virtual trade shows,” he said.

He added Reed has 300 of its shows on its web hosting platform.
