Week-long online exhibition gives photo lovers the chance to bid on a real David Bailey print

Samsung is calling on the general public to bid online for 20 signed photographs taken by a group of David Baileys – including one by the legendary photographer himself – to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The online exhibition and auction, in association with eBay, is being hosted at www.thesecretbailey.co.uk. Creative is through Cheil UK in collaboration with Grape Digital, and follows Cheil’s launch campaign for Samsung’s NX range of smart camera.

Following Samsung’s partnership with David Bailey last year to launch the NX range, Samsung has joined forces with the iconic photographer again to create an online exhibition in association with eBay for the launch of its new Smart Camera. The auction will feature twenty photographs, one taken by the David Bailey and the others taken by ten of his namesakes who were recruited by Samsung last year in a campaign that aimed to show the professional quality and simplicity of its new NX Smart Camera range. Photography lovers will be encouraged to guess which is the real David Bailey and bid, with all proceeds going to Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The charity auction will be open until 8pm on Tuesday 14th May and will feature a range of images taken by the David Baileys on a Samsung NX300 Smart Camera which capture the essence of ‘speed.’ Each print will be available to bid on for the duration of the week-long auction, with bidders invited to identify the real David Bailey from his namesakes to be in with the chance of getting their hands on an original David Bailey print.
