Streetcar entrepreneur Brett Akker and WorkClub and Agency Republic founder Jon Claydon have joined London-based start-up YunoJuno – the social platform for freelance recruitment, as Chairman and Advisor.
YunoJuno is the product of three Ad men, Shib Mathew, Chris Cater and Hugo Rodger-Brown, who thought the way the industry sourced the best freelance talent was broken. After working in advertising agencies both in the UK and abroad, and with backgrounds across Creative Operations, Finance and Technology, the trio built YunoJuno, a disruptive and refreshing change to the competitive talent landscape.
Jon Claydon and Brett Akker have both recently invested in YunoJuno and bring with them considerable experience from the advertising, creative and technology start-up space. Claydon has a broad knowledge of the advertising world, either founding or leading such agencies as Work Club, Agency Republic and Claydon Heeley Jones Mason, whilst Akker’s entrepreneurial flair can be seen with his work at Streetcar/Zipcar and LoveSpace.
Shib Mathew, CEO at YunoJuno said: “It’s a real coup to be adding Jon and Brett to the team, who between them bring a wealth of experience to the table. The men have first-hand experience within the creative and tech industry and therefore understand the dissatisfaction with the current recruitment process.”
Brett Akker, YunoJuno’s most recent investor added: “YunoJuno is that rare thing; a simple but brilliant idea that’s transforming the way smart companies are connecting with London’s best freelance operators. Jon and I are delighted to support an online platform already enabling a real community of talent and forward-thinking employers.”
YunoJuno is building a trusted network of the best freelance talent, removing the manual, expensive barriers to connect with freelance talent, so that innovative companies can do just that – innovate.
