11th July, 2013 – Video marketing technology company Vidioh! recently conducted a survey of UK marketers asking their opinion on video cards.
Almost two thirds (61%) of marketers believe that the use of video cards in marketing will increase over the next 12 months. Just 8% believe it will decrease with the remaining third (31%) believing it will remain the same. www.vidioh.co.uk
When asked what they felt were the key benefits of using video cards as part of a marketing campaign the majority (64%) rated the fact that they are ‘unusual and attention grabbing’ as most important, while 38% felt that the second most important benefit was their ability to ‘bring a product or service to life’. Just over a quarter (27%) said that the third most important benefit was their ‘ability to reach a very targeted audience’.
Martin Simcock, Director and Founder of Vidioh commented: “The majority of people we show our video cards to have not seen anything similar before and are instantly struck by their marketing potential.“
A total of 181 UK marketers shared their opinions; 45% work for a marketing services agency, 34% for a corporate organisation, 16% for an SME and 5% for an event agency. Almost a third of these (31%) have annual marketing budgets of over 105k (either for themselves or on behalf of their clients).
When asked what elements were most important in delivering a successful video card campaign, half (49%) said ‘communicating the key message clearly’ was of primary importance with 40% rating the ‘quality and creativity of content’ as the second most important and 30% rated the ‘quality and creativity of video production’ as the third most important. Surprisingly over half (54%) of respondents said that the ‘quality and creativity of printed branding’ was of least importance.
Given an unlimited budget to spend on Vidioh cards, 45% of respondents said they would choose to spend it on direct mail about a new product with 38% choosing direct mail about the brand as a whole. A third (31%) would choose to spend it on event promotion and slightly less (27%) on cards to use as experiential tools for events.
Notes:
The survey was carried out online between 7th and 21st June 2013. A total of 181 UK marketers completed the survey.
