JWT has been appointed as a strategic adviser to Shopitize Ltd., a London-based tech start-up, focused on disrupting how promotions are delivered from brands to consumers.
Founded in 2010 and backed by international investors, Shopitize has developed a customer engagement platform that will directly connect brands and customers, enabling delivery of personalised offers and rewards. Initially, the Shopitize platform allows consumers to manage and then later earn rewards on their shopping by uploading photos of their grocery receipts from either an iPhone or Android application.
“JWT is very excited to work with start-up companies like Shopitize who bring innovative ideas to existing markets,” said Joseph Petyan, Executive Partner of JWT London.
“Shopitize has a big vision on how to harness the power of disparate consumer spending data across channels to create an incredible source of value for both brands and consumers. When realised, this vision will be a fundamental shift in the way that brands are able to provide offers directly to consumers,” he added.
“JWT’s strengths in marketing, strategy and creativity were a perfect fit for Shopitize as we refined our proposition for brands and consumers,” said Irina Pafomova, co-founder of Shopitize.
New insights for brands and consumers
“The Shopitize platform combines mobile and web technologies in an innovative way to generate new insights for brands and consumers. Because the Shopitize proposition intersects FMCG brands and technology, JWT’s experience with both technology and FMCG companies has provided a unique perspective in defining the benefits of this disruption to brands and consumers,” she added.
The Shopitize platform is currently in beta and is available to Android and iPhone users in the UK.
In the beta release, users will snap photos of their grocery receipts which are automatically uploaded to the Shopitize platform, enabling the easy management of their everyday shopping, creation of personalised spending reports, and delivery of smart shopping lists to the Shopitize smartphone app. Subsequent platform release will expand the proposition beyond grocery to high street retailers and enable personalised offers and rewards.
