Chester-based Textlocal eyes Spain with latest international launch

Insider News North West – Mobile tech company eyes Spain with latest international launch

From www.insidermedia.com – A mobile tech company has made its next foray into the international arena with a bid to crack the Spanish market. The move by Chester-based Textlocal is part of wider plans to expand elsewhere in Europe and other global markets.

Chester-based Textlocal is a mobile marketing and business messaging company which until now has been solely focused on the UK market.

It has developed software which enables its 110,000-strong client roster of businesses and organisations to contact staff, customers or members via text messages with news, offers and updates.

Textlocal took on a Spanish team member six months ago to help prepare its software, website and other marketing material for its launch in Spain which went live last week.

Managing director Darren Daws, who co-founded the business with chief executive Alastair Shortland in 2005, told Insider: “We started trading in Ireland at the back end of last year and it’s going OK.

“It’s not a huge market for us as there are only so many people there but that was the start of our international growth.

“It gave us the chance to target an English-speaking country but also one which trades in the euro. We’ve launched the Spain operation from here as it gives us an easy way of seeing how it goes.
