A new season shock at Burberry: Angela Ahrendts, chief executive of the luxury fashion label for eight years and one of the FTSE100’s only three women bosses, has been hired to head Apple retail.
Burberry says Ahrendts will step down “by mid-2014” and will be replaced by Christopher Bailey, who has been chief creative officer for six years. Ahrendts has said Buberry is in “brilliant shape” and Bailey is “one of this generations great visionaries”.
