Last night at the NABS President’s Drinks, Stephen Miron, Group CEO of Global Radio was named as the charity’s new president.
The appointment of Miron as president follows a hugely successful year for NABS as the charity celebrated 100 years of supporting the advertising and media industry with a range of high profile initiatives and the most successful Big Bash party to-date.
Also on the night, Marc Mendoza, ex-chairman of Havas Media and Jane Ratcliffe, chairman of Mediacom were presented with the Ron Miller Award, named after the former NABS chairman, which recognises outstanding contributions made by individuals to the charity. Eminent past winners of the award include: Nick Theakstone, CEO at Group M and Hamish Pringle, partner at Pringle and Pringle LLP.
Other announcements included the appointment of Naren Patel CEO of Primesight and Linda Grant, managing director of Metro UK as NABS trustees.
NABS also took the opportunity to announce three new patrons: Phil Georgiadis, chairman of Walker Media, Tess Alps, executive chair of Thinkbox and Nick Bampton, commercial sales director of Channel 5.
Valassis – The UK’s leading coupon and voucher services provider, has expanded its team with the appointment of Corinne Kavaz as New Business Development Director.
Corinne is a business-to-business marketing professional with 14 years experience in a wide range of marketing disciplines including customer relationship management, direct mail, public relations, advertising, data strategy and data systems.
She most recently worked as Business Director for Wunderman, the original architect of response driven marketing, part of WPP, for eight years and managed Jaguar Land Rover’s Corporate Sales marketing. While heading the Jaguar Corporate Account team she managed to quadruple business over three years and build up the team from four to 23 people.
Speaking about her new role, Corinne explained:
“I am delighted to be given the opportunity to join Valassis as New Business Development Director. It is a new and exciting challenge for me, and I’m looking forward to using my business and marketing expertise to cement Valassis’s place at the forefront of the market.”

17 October 2013. London. M&C Saatchi has appointed Grant Parker – the multi award winning Ogilvy Paris Global Creative Director – to the role of Head of Art.
At M&C Saatchi Parker will be working alongside Mark Goodwin, Creative Director, Simon Dicketts, Worldwide Creative Director and reporting in to Elspeth Lynn, Executive Creative Director. He will work across M&C Saatchi’s portfolio of clients.
Parker began his career at TBWA in Cape Town. He returns to the UK after two years at Ogilvy Paris, where he held the role of Global Creative Director of Louis Vuitton. Throughout his career he has worked on a wide range of brands such as VW, Harvey Nichols, Marmite and The Guardian.
