The new app allows HSBC customers to check their balance and last six transactions on the go.
Developed by mobile banking firm Monitise, it is currently only available on iPhone devices, but an Android version is being developed. Customers will be able to view up to 10 accounts, as well as top up airtime on their phones.
Many banks are now beginning to concentrate on their mobile offering, with Barclays and JP Morgan recently expanding their m-payments capabilities.
An app solely for business users was released by HSBC last year, so this personal banking option has been eagerly anticipated.
