The Aerie Real campaign is aimed at using models who haven’t been digitally enhanced.
The company hopes to make normal women feel good about their bodies and is even asking women to use the #AerieREAL hashtag to share photos of themselves. The lingerie brand, American Eagle’s sister store, is aimed at young women, in the hope they’ll have a better sense of body confidence from the campaign.
Comment …I went to Aerie the other day and tried on a swimsuit, not feeling super great about my self. Looked in the mirror and posted on it, along with the theme of the campaign, was something along the lines of “The girl in the mirror has not been retouched. The real you is sexy.” I loved it. Now I love my favorite brand even more.
This is just marketing…..some big company was bound to make a big deal out of it at some point
Its what everyone wants now, I dont think we should make companies feel so proud for doing this… it should just be done
