The first ever Giftcard & Voucher Week is set to launch in November this year and has been created to celebrate and promote gift cards and vouchers as the ideal gift to both give and to receive.
Giftcard & Voucher Week is supported by the trade association for the UK gift card and voucher industry, the UKGCVA, and sponsored by several leading suppliers of giftcards and vouchers, including well known retailers. It will create a focus on gift cards and vouchers in the pre-Christmas period and promote their awareness amongst consumers and businesses at the key selling and gifting time.
Both B2C and B2B focussed, the week will be promoted via a number of high profile promotional and PR activities across print, broadcast, digital and social media. A media partnership with a national paper will also soon be announced.
John Starr, managing director of Clareville, the PR agency that has created the week comments: “Launching Giftcard & Voucher Week is an exciting project and since we have extensive expertise in this sector, we’re equipped to ensure it is a success.
According to the UKGCVA report for Q4 of 2011 which assessed the sales data of all its members, like-for-like voucher sales showed a 12.1% increase, with a 22% growth in the business-to-business market and a 6.1% boost in consumer sales.
“In today’s economy, it’s positive to see that the giftcard and voucher industry is flourishing, and our goal is to further demonstrate and promote giftcards and vouchers as the ideal gift, incentive or reward across both the consumer and corporate sectors.”
