Weve’s adoption of AdChoices icon welcomed by ISBA
ISBA has welcomed Weve’s move to serve the AdChoices icon against all of its mobile display advertising. The icon was developed in 2012 to give consumers the choice to opt out of receiving Online Behavioural Advertising (OBA).
Bob Wootton, ISBA’s Director of Media & Advertising, said:
“Weve’s hugely significant telecoms presence means its adoption of the AdChoices icon will have a meaningful impact, not just on raising consumer awareness about OBA, but in giving users an easy way of opting out of OBA. Further, they have provided a solution that lasts the consumer beyond the life of the handset.”
ISBA was heavily involved in developing the IAB AdChoices icon and ISBA has been actively promoting it to members since its launch.
Wootton concluded:
“The icon is a fine example of self-regulation in action and shows that the industry responds to consumer concerns and provides practical solutions.”
