Standing out from the competition
When trying to create anything that’s successful it’s important to stand out from the crowd, and a big reason why Boardwalk Empire has gained such a following is that it truly stands out from everything else that’s on TV right now.
In a golden era of television that offers so much choice to viewers, it’s a true accomplishment to have a hit show that runs for 5 seasons, especially one that doesn’t offer the fantasy and sci-fi elements that are so popular with viewers right now. Whilst it’s primarily a crime show, Boardwalk Empire manages to combine elements of drama, romance and mystery to create a truly compelling offering.
Season 4 available on DVD
The show has run for 4 seasons so far and a lot of people who haven’t seen it yet are looking to catch up with it before it ends. Boardwalk Empire season 4 is available to buy on DVD and Blu Ray on the 18th August. You can Pre-order your copy with Amazon now.
Many have compared Boardwalk Empire to The Sopranos and it’s not difficult to see why. When The Sopranos first aired, it was unlike anything else on television and you can say the same about Boardwalk Empire. Whilst it would be a lie to call it the biggest show on television, it is certainly one of the most popular American crime shows in recent years and many fans are eagerly anticipating its fifth and final season.
With the show coming to a close this year, it’s rumoured that Martin Scorsese will continue to be heavily involved and even possibly direct an episode or two. Fans of the show will be eagerly anticipating the final season to see how the writers wrap up the various story lines. With season 4 ending so explosively, expectations are at an all-time high and with the show’s pedigree, there’s no reason to believe that these expectations won’t be met.
