Political Blunder Time : Did Rachel blow it?

Labour’s Rachel Reeves has to explain Ed Balls economics and tax and spend policies IF they win the 2015 general election. I watched this and my conclusion was either Rachel did not do enough homework for the interview or Ed Balls briefed her incorrectly. Poor show either way.

Labour will make no spending commitments in its 2015 general election plans that are not paid for, the shadow work and pensions secretary said.

Reviewing Ed Balls’ speech to the party conference, Rachel Reeves told Andrew Neil there would be “no extra spending in our manifesto”.

She said the party would not follow the Liberal Democrats over its 2010 election promises, and said: “You can’t kid people that there’s going to be loads of extra money to spend.”

Talks on income tax devolved to Scotland, freezing of child benefit, inflation rate, taxes that Labour party want, minimum wage, borrowing,  Recorded from BBC2 HD, Daily Politics Conference Special, Labour 2014, 22 September 2014.
