AOL On adds 14 new UK content and publishing partners

New partners double AOL’s premium video platform to 30

AOL UK today announces 14 new partnerships for its premium video syndication platform AOL On with a series of new content producers adding their web content and short form content, including Northern & Shell, British Pathe and Sky News.

The new partnerships further cement AOL’s position as the number one premium video platform globally.

The partners announced today include iconic film library British Pathe; extreme sports channel Epic TV; and Atomized, the producers behind River Café. Northern & Shell will be using AOL On across their Daily Express, Daily Star and OK! websites, as well as providing great content such as  Seriously Football for syndication. Sky News has also come on board as both a content and publishing partner, giving consumers in North America access to its programming, as well as distributing other AOL On content through the Sky News site.

The full list of new partners includes Atomized, Barcroft Media, British Pathe, BuzzMyVideos, Cover Video, Crash.net, Engage Sports Media, Epic TV, Golfjuice.tv, Reader’s Digest UK, Royal Institution of Great Britain, Russell Grant Astrology Ltd, Northern & Shell and Sky News.

AOL On is a premium curated video platform with a commitment to its own original programming, announcing 16 new shows in New York in April this year. The success of AOL On is highlighted by the calibre of stars involved, with original shows featuring Steve Buscemi, Nicole Richie, James Franco and Sarah Jessica Parker.  ‘Park Bench with Steve Buscemi’ and Tiffany Shlain’s “The Future Starts Here” were both nominated for Emmys this year. James Franco’s series “Making a Scene” premiered last week.

Since launching, the global network has unveiled nearly 50 original series worldwide, including the 2013 slate of originals, which have garnered more than 167 million views to date. AOL On launched in the UK in March 2014.

AOL’s commitment to video will be in the spotlight once again next month when the IAB hosts the UK’s first Digital Upfronts. AOL is set to announce an exciting new slate of British premium content at BAFTA on 16th October.
