This Halloween, Cheil UK is showing Samsung in-store customers just how immersive and life-like the brand’s Curved UHD TVs are by giving them the fright of their life.
The agency rigged the Westfield Samsung Experience Store with the latest range of Curved Ultra HD Televisions and a series of hidden cameras to film the content for the prank for Samsung UK.
The 66 second YouTube video and 6 second Vine clip see an Experience Store employee encourage visitors to ‘have a closer look’ at the demo footage playing on the TV screen, pointing out just how immersive the screen is, highlighting the depth the curve gives the user.
Once the customer is close enough to the screen, and distracted by the footage, an actor made to look like a zombie version of the Experience Store employee slowly emerges from her hiding place to take the place of her accomplice. On looking up from the screen the customer is given a fright and in turn provides a funny reaction – all of which was captured on the eight hidden cameras.
