Etsy’s – excited to bring their sellers’ items directly to shoppers with their very own pop up!

With handmade gifts, home decorations, jewellery, stationery and much more for sale, Etsy House will combine the hands on discovery and surprise of shopping in a store, with the care and passion the UK has come to expect from shopping online at Etsy.

Etsy House follows the success of Etsy’s first ever pop-up shop in Soho, New York in 2013 which attracted over 20,000 visitors during the 10 days it was open. It is the first time this same format will be executed outside of the US.

Etsy’s London pop-up also comes shortly after the launch of Etsy wholesale in the United States, a private juried marketplace where independent retailers can discover unique products from artists and designers. On Etsy Wholesale artists and designers registered will pay a $100 one-time joining fee upon acceptance with Etsy taking a 3.5% transaction fee for wholesale purchase orders thereafter. For Etsy House a selection of UK designer-makers have already been waitlisted for this platform with the view to Etsy Wholesale launching internationally in 2015.

Jonathan Zatland, Etsy’s International Multi-Channel Manager said “We’re really excited to be launching this concept in the UK. This is a big step forward for Etsy in terms of raising brand awareness and helping to showcase our seller community in a physical retail environment.”

Over the weekend of Etsy House visitors will also be able to book onto workshops hosted by Etsy designer-makers and order personalised items from makers who will be crafting items to stock the shelves live in store.

iZettle and VEND are providing the payment systems and software at Etsy House.

“It’s great to help forward thinking companies such as Etsy launch their first ever pop-up store in the UK,” says Johan Bendz, CMO at iZettle. “Having just spearheaded the 12 Hour Store campaign, we’ve really got the pop-up bug, and we see this as another opportunity to help a fantastic business achieve its goal of selling in one of the best cities in the world.”

Etsy House will open in London from 5th– 7th December at 5 Great Newport St, London, WC2H 7HY. Friday 5th 10am – 8pm, Saturday 6th 10am – 8pm, Sunday 7th 10am – 6pm.
