Marks and Sparks had a much worse Christmas than Tesco. It has revealed a 5.8pc decline in general merchandise – the parts of the retailer that do not include food – in the 13 weeks to December 27.
The news is certain to pile additional pressure on Marc Bolland, M&S’s chief executive, who has this morning said warm weather and problems at its distribution centre were behind the sales drop. The Telegraph report Our story here
