Here’s a great example of how experiential marketing can be used by retailers to provide an amazing shopping experience out of store.
German shoe brand Goertz created an interactive retail installation and placed in train stations where and people could virtually try shoes on. Courtesy of the Hotcow blog
Using a digital billboard and three Kinect sensors, people had their feet scanned and reproduced on the screen. They could then choose any model and size from the Goertz online store and see show the shoes fit in real time.
The experience was cleverly integrated with social media, alowing people to share snapshots with their friends on Facebook. QR codes were also used to direct consumers to the online shop where they could buy the shoe they liked and have it delivered by next day.
