London, 14 December 2015: Acuity PR, part of Ingenuity, has appointed former Marketing Week deputy editor Ian McCawley as Managing Director.
McCawley joins from Limelight where he was Client Services Director. He spent 10 years in journalism with publishers including Centaur, where he was also deputy editor of Precision Marketing and Data Strategy.
Subsequently he had several stints at PR agencies in content and b2b client director roles, working with ad and marketing agencies within global groups including WPP, Omnicom and Publicis.
At Acuity, McCawley will have overall responsibility for growing the business, overseeing client relationships and acquisition. His experience will underpin the agency’s proposition of PR working hand in glove with the new business process for clients, creating content and media presence around their activity.
Chris Kemp, CEO, Ingenuity, said: “We’re delighted to have Ian on board. His experience of bringing together PR, marketing and sales, as well as his editorial expertise, will be invaluable as we look to grow both Acuity and Ingenuity in 2016 and beyond.”
Ian McCawley, Managing Director of Acuity, commented: “This is a fantastic opportunity to prove what other agencies claim: that PR really can help boost sales. I’m looking forward to working with Chris and the team.”
