Tony Dent, CMR Group writes … We are running an online poll titled ‘Brexit or Bremain’ amongst UK businesses. Although the sample cannot be considered scientific, the first 317 respondents represent a fair spread by employee size and region.
Presently 85% of respondents say they have decided on their vote. From those respondents, 61% are proposing to vote in favour of leaving the EU. Even the majority of the 48% of respondents whose business involves International Trade are proposing to vote ‘leave’, despite that fact that the overwhelming majority (95%) of these businesses trade with the Eurozone.

Moreover, from the 15% who have not yet decided on their vote, by far the majority are ‘leaning’ towards voting ‘out’.
It is, of course, early days and we are just starting to invite business people to participate in our survey. However this surprising result possibly becomes more understandable, when we observe that 90% of our respondents are male and most of these are over 55 years old!
Hopefully we’ll get some opinions from younger entrepreneurs and females during the next week.
