Creative Spark creates brand new website design and UX for Bikmo cycle insurance

Independent brand agency Creative Spark have unveiled a brand new user experience and web design for cycle insurance specialists, Bikmo.

Bikmo have been disrupting the UK insurance sector since their launch in 2014 thanks to their dedication in improving the lives of cyclists through the smart use of technology and emphasis on providing excellent customer service.

Due to the cycle insurance sector becoming significantly overcrowded, Bikmo turned to Manchester based brand agency, Creative Spark, in order to differentiate themselves by creating a new, simple and more efficient user experience that would stand them even further apart from the competition.

Bikmo have been known since day one for their simple and user friendly approach to insurance; a 3-step online purchasing process and cloud accounting really does make the process of buying and managing a policy super simple.

So what could Bikmo want to change? Well, with new insurance products launching soon, Bikmo wanted to strip back the homepage and buying journey to accommodate new products and information points.

David George (Bikmo CEO + Founder) said:

“We know how good our product us, however the old homepage and quote journey didn’t necessarily voice this. We wanted to strip everything back even further to ensure a customer’s journey in buying a policy is as simple and straight-forward as possible. We want the process of buying insurance to be enjoyable, aesthetically pleasing, yet super efficient. We also wanted to get ourselves, the team across. We love cycling which is why I created Bikmo, and we feel as though we have a voice that our customers should hear”.

Creative Spark have refined the buying journey to a seamless, minimalistic 4 step journey with fewer touchpoints, therefore, minimising the efforts required by a customer to sign-up.

Users can also now log into their Bikmo cloud account through Strava or other social media platforms, which again saves time and reduces efforts.

Up until now, Bikmo have accommodated for cycle enthusiasts who own a bike collection worth +£1K with their first insurance product, Bikmo PLUS. The new website is ready in perfect timing for the launch of Bikmo GO, the insurance product which tailors for entry level cyclists, and is suitable for the cycle to work or urban city rider. Customers qualify for this policy if they own a bike or have a bike(s) which equates in value to less than £1,000.

Policy benefits include theft, accidental damage, £2M public liability cover, ‘get you home’ cover as well as exclusive access and discounts with the market leading commuter brands that Bikmo have partnered with including Bern helmets, HIPLOK and See.Sense bike lights.

Commenting on the final result, Deputy Creative Director James O’Connell of Creative Spark had this to say:

“This has been a great project to work on. We’ve always been proud believers in working collaboratively with clients and Bikmo was no exception. Their exhaustive knowledge not only of the cycle insurance industry, but also cycling in general blew us away.

This expertise informed our UX process, allowing us to create a rich experience that made use of empathy, making the customer journey as seamless, intuitive and enjoyable as possible. We also created a fresh new look and feel and sought to bring the Bikmo team itself to the forefront of the site, creating an online experience that did the brand justice”.
