Sounds familiar? : Difficult for customers to cancel their internet and phone contracts

Sky faces a fine for making it too difficult for customers to cancel their internet and phone contracts. Telecoms watchdog Ofcom says firms must make it simple to cancel or switch to another provider.

Money Mail has heard from scores of former Sky customers who say it was difficult to leave. The regulator believes that between May 1 and July 31 last year, Sky’s cancellation process was too complex.

It has ‘reasonable grounds’ to believe Sky broke its rules.

Sky has a month to respond or faces a fine of up to 10 per cent of those three months’ takings.
